Delete Data

CoinPurr does not currently use CoinPurr accounts or cloud sync, so deleting app data happens on your device and in any backup locations you chose.

Summary

The first public release of CoinPurr does not create a cloud account for you. That means there is no CoinPurr server account to delete. Your app data is stored on your device unless you create and share a backup file.

Reset local data in CoinPurr

  1. Open CoinPurr.
  2. Go to Settings > Data & security.
  3. Tap Reset local data.
  4. Confirm Yes, reset.

Resetting local data clears your main local budget file, including budget entries, transactions, categories, goals, debts, Big Plans, optional Accounts data, reminder preferences, pet progress, and most app settings stored by CoinPurr on that device.

App lock settings and the Safety Folder selection are stored separately so reset does not bypass your lock or remove your chosen backup location.

7-day recovery snapshot

For reset safety, CoinPurr may keep a same-device recovery snapshot for up to 7 days. This lets you restore the data that existed before the reset if you reset by mistake.

You can remove the recovery snapshot from inside CoinPurr. After 7 days, CoinPurr treats the snapshot as expired.

Clear app storage or uninstall

You can also delete CoinPurr data through your operating system by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling CoinPurr. Android device menus vary, but this is usually under Settings, Apps, CoinPurr, Storage.

Clearing app storage or uninstalling may not delete backup files you saved elsewhere, such as downloads, cloud drives, email, messaging apps, or removable storage.

Delete backup files you created

Manual backup files and Safety Folder files are controlled by you. If you created a backup, delete every copy from the places where you saved or shared it.

  • Downloads folder or file manager.
  • Cloud storage apps.
  • Email attachments.
  • Messaging apps.
  • External storage or an Android folder you selected.

Optional Accounts data

If you enabled Accounts in CoinPurr, reset deletes account labels, opening balances, transfers, corrections, defaults, and account preferences stored inside the app. It does not contact any real bank, wallet, payment provider, or financial institution because CoinPurr does not connect to those services.
